Private Jet Airports in Geneva
Geneva and the surrounding region offer several aviation options, although Geneva Airport is the principal gateway for private jet charter.
Geneva Airport (GVA), also known as Genève Aéroport, is located approximately four kilometres northwest of central Geneva. It accommodates private and business aviation through dedicated facilities alongside scheduled commercial airline operations.
Road transfers to central Geneva commonly take approximately 15–25 minutes in favourable conditions, although traffic can extend journey times.
Geneva Airport is particularly convenient for travellers visiting the city, nearby private residences and destinations around Lake Geneva.
Annecy Haute-Savoie Mont Blanc Airport (NCY) is located in neighbouring France, south of Geneva. It accommodates business and general aviation and may be considered for selected private aircraft journeys, particularly for passengers visiting Annecy or nearby Alpine destinations.
Aircraft suitability and operating restrictions should be confirmed, as the airport does not offer the same capabilities as Geneva Airport for all aircraft categories.
Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport (CMF) is located farther south in the French Alps and is an established gateway for winter leisure aviation. It may be relevant for travellers visiting Courchevel, Méribel, Val Thorens and other ski resorts in the Tarentaise region.
Sion Airport (SIR) is located in the Swiss canton of Valais and accommodates selected private aviation operations. It can be relevant for travellers visiting resorts in the Valais region, including Verbier, subject to aircraft suitability and operational conditions.
For passengers travelling to central Geneva, Geneva Airport is generally the most practical arrival point.
Travellers heading to Courchevel or other French Alpine resorts may find Chambéry more convenient, depending on aircraft capabilities, airport conditions and onward travel arrangements.
For journeys to Verbier, Sion may offer a shorter road transfer where suitable aircraft operations are available.
Winter operations at Alpine airports can be affected by weather, runway conditions, terrain and aircraft performance requirements. The most convenient airport geographically is not always the most suitable for a particular private jet.
FlyPRVT works with aviation partners to explore appropriate aircraft, airports and onward transfer arrangements for Geneva and Alpine charter enquiries.
