Private Jet Airports in Toronto
Toronto and the surrounding region offer several airports accommodating private aviation, with different advantages depending on aircraft requirements, international flight arrangements and the passenger’s final destination.
Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is Canada’s busiest airport and a principal gateway for international aviation. It accommodates private and business aircraft through established aviation facilities, making it suitable for a wide range of domestic and international charter arrangements.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) is located on Toronto’s waterfront, close to the downtown business district. Its proximity to central Toronto can be particularly convenient, although runway limitations, airport operating restrictions and applicable rules restrict the types of aircraft and flights that can use it.
Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport (YKZ) was historically a general aviation airport serving Markham and the northern Greater Toronto Area. It closed permanently in November 2023 and is no longer available for private jet charter operations.
Oshawa Executive Airport (YOO) is located east of Toronto and accommodates general and business aviation. It may be a practical option for certain private aircraft travelling to Durham Region and surrounding communities.
Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) serves Waterloo, Kitchener and Cambridge, providing an additional private aviation option for travellers visiting Ontario’s technology and business communities west of Toronto.
Hamilton International Airport (YHM) is located southwest of Toronto and accommodates private and business aviation alongside commercial and cargo operations. It can be convenient for passengers travelling to Hamilton, Burlington and parts of the western Greater Toronto Area.
For travellers visiting downtown Toronto, Billy Bishop may offer a convenient arrival location where the proposed aircraft and flight meet its operating requirements.
Toronto Pearson is generally the more versatile option for larger aircraft and international journeys, while Hamilton, Oshawa and Waterloo may be appropriate for passengers whose final destinations lie outside central Toronto.
Airport suitability, operating restrictions, customs arrangements, aircraft capabilities and ground handling requirements vary. FlyPRVT works with aviation partners to explore appropriate airport and aircraft options for each charter enquiry.
